Hi!
My name is Sam and I’m 29 years old. I live (close to) Ottawa with my handsome husband Jeff, and our sweet rescue dog Maverick (or Mavvy, Swervy Merv, Murph.. he answers to all of the above!).
I used to work in a book store doing visual merchandising - making things pretty for a living was my dream job! Since I’ve stopped, I scrapbook and journal (digital or paper.. that is the question), and read books of all genres (again.. digital or paper?!). My Pinterest has a board titled “Pink”, I buy home decorating magazines without owning a house and have a love for musicals.
You may have come across my page because when I was 24, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. At 26, it spread; to my bones, lungs and brain. It is now metastatic breast cancer (known as Stage 4, when breast cancer spreads to other parts of the body). As of right now, there is no cure.
Since 2014, i’ve been blogging my way through the ups and downs: sharing memes, music, broken bones (and my broken brain.. literally and figuratively!) along the way. Hence, The (un)Organized Mind.
